The statewide gas price average in Texas is $3.05 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch. That price is one cent less than on this day last week and is 41 cents less per gallon compared to this day last year. Of the major metropolitan areas surveyed in Texas, drivers in El Paso metro area are paying the most on average at $3.27 per gallon while drivers in McAllen are paying the least at $2.85 per gallon. The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.44, which is one cent less when compared to this day last week and 42 cents less per gallon when compared to this day last year.

Today's national average for a kilowatt of electricity at an L2 commercial charging station is 34 cents. In Texas, the average cost is 28 cents.
Oil and Gas Market Trends
According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gas demand edged higher last week from 8.96 million b/d to 9.04. Meanwhile, total domestic gasoline stocks fell from 225.1 to 222.2 million barrels. Gasoline production decreased slightly last week, averaging 9.7 million barrels per day. Tepid gasoline demand and stable oil costs may cause pump prices to slide further.
