AAA Texas automotive technicians will conduct a free 38-point visual vehicle maintenance inspection that includes review of:

•           Tire Pressure

•           Tire Tread

•           Engine Air Filter

•           Battery/Battery Cables/Clamps/Terminals

•           Windshield Washer Fluid/Wiper Blades

•           Engine Fluids

•           Antifreeze/Coolant Protection

•           Belts and Hoses

Following the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule found in the owner’s manual is the best way to keep a vehicle running properly and avoid costly repairs. Each visual maintenance inspection takes about ten minutes and inspections will be available by appointment. In addition, AAA Texas will also provide free VIN etching by appointment. Since car thieves frequently steal vehicles to sell off the automobile’s parts, a window that is VIN etched makes a vehicle less profitable for thieves and helps law enforcement recover stolen vehicles. To be eligible for VIN etching, vehicle owners should bring their current insurance information.

AAA Texas will also offer a free Dare to Prepare teen driver safety clinic to ready parents and teens for the Graduated Driver License process and responsibility of safe driving.. The class is free to the public and AAA Members, but registration is required at: www.aaa.com/safety4teens. Dare To Prepare classes are for pre-permit teens and their parents/caregivers. It provides information young people need to know before they get behind the wheel. The interactive program, geared toward future drivers (14-15 years of age), walks attendees through the steps necessary to obtain a learner’s permit and driver’s license, and offers useful tools, tips and resources to help parents and teens during the learning-to-drive process and beyond.

To help members and non-members identify quality auto repair shops that can assist in the maintenance and repair of their vehicles, AAA offers the Approved Auto Repair program as a free public service. AAA-approved repair facilities meet and maintain high professional standards for training, equipment, cleanliness and customer service.
